Dr. Scott Camp

Scott Camp is a pastor, evangelist, missionary, and global theological educator with over 40 years of ministry experience.

His unique life journey has equipped him to reach those who feel unreachable with the message of Christ. Born to a teenage mother and raised in a home marked by alcoholism and brokenness, he faced significant challenges. His struggles with drug and alcohol abuse led to a felony charge and his arrest while in high school. During this time, he dedicated his life to Christ and soon felt a call to preach.

A licensed and ordained Southern Baptist minister since 1981, Dr. Camp has served as the senior pastor of five growing congregations, including First Baptist Church of Sachse, TX; Metro Church of Garland, TX; First Baptist Church of Mansfield, TX; Fellowship of Joy in Grand Prairie, TX; and First Methodist Church of Pleasanton, TX. Additionally, he has ministered as a student pastor, evangelist, and church planter.

Dr. Camp's influence extends far beyond the United States. As a global evangelist, he has preached the Gospel throughout the Americas, the Caribbean Islands, Europe, Asia, and Africa, where he and his wife, Gina, served as full-time missionaries in Ghana for three years, leading thousands of Muslims and Animists to faith in Christ.

He has also ministered to international audiences through television and radio, hosting the INSP Network's "Come to the Cross" program in Charlotte, NC. His work has been featured in various media outlets, including TBN, DayStar, GodTV, Charisma, The Dallas Morning News, The NY Times and Fort Worth Star-Telegram, among others.

He has also spoken at numerous evangelism conferences, youth conventions, and pastors’ conferences across both denominational and interdenominational settings. He has also been a program guest with the Billy Graham Crusade.

In addition to his pastoral and evangelistic work, he has made significant contributions to theological education. He served as Dean of Students at Criswell College (Dallas, TX) and Nelson University (Waxahachie, TX). He has also taught at Christ for the Nations Institute and The King’s University and served as Chair of Evangelism at SUM Bible College and Seminary. Internationally, he was an Evangelism and New Testament Studies professor at Ghana Christian University College, Assemblies of God Northern Bible College and Maranatha University.

In March 2025, the trustees of Valor Christian College elected him as President.

Dr. Camp's academic achievements are a testament to his scholarly depth and dedication to theological education. He holds a Master of Arts in Theology (Summa Cum Laude) from Criswell College, a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Assemblies of God University, and a Master of Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. His pursuit of knowledge has taken him to doctoral studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Baylor University, and Southern Evangelical Seminary. In 2007, he received an honorary Doctor of Divinity from St. Thomas Christian College in Jacksonville, FL. He is currently completing his dissertation for a Doctor of Ministry at Trinity United Seminary, East Legon, Accra, Ghana.

He is the author of two bestselling books: "A Primer on Power" (exploring the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit and his testimony of a fresh infilling of power) and "A Primer on Pain" (addressing how to overcome life’s painful episodes).

Scott married his wife, Gina, in 1988. A graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University, Gina has served as a Children’s Pastor, music teacher, choir director, and speaker and worship leader at various conferences. She is also an ordained minister. Together the Camps have four grown children and four grandchildren who are all following and serving Jesus passionately.
